Hi Sydney,

Hope you’re doing well! Can you please share these job opportunities with
your networks:

Our team at the Washington State Department of Ecology is currently hiring
for a Shoreline Mapping Scientist (NRS3)
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/4231650/shoreline-mapping-scientist-natural-resource-scientist-3-in-training__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!jG_wf4_yowJAGROD37yUDqhTD4bno7yvB_736-dz2M_HCnkTuGhpuIS2fYtwKFjPWdPW6QJN9WZI66ZFJQ$>
and a Coastal Mapping Scientist (NRS2)
<https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/4222603/coastal-mapping-scientist-natural-resource-scientist-2__;!!K-Hz7m0Vt54!jG_wf4_yowJAGROD37yUDqhTD4bno7yvB_736-dz2M_HCnkTuGhpuIS2fYtwKFjPWdPW6QJN9WY5DmjnPw$>.
These roles are part of the newly established Applied Coastal Research &
Engineering (ACRE) Section as an expansion of our Coastal Monitoring &
Analysis Program (CMAP) which was established in 1996.

We are seeking applicants with strong GIS backgrounds and are interested in
topic areas including coastal science, remote sensing, geomorphology,
physical geography, coastal planning, or similar. These positions will be
part of the new Shoreline Mapping Unit created to fulfill directives from
Senate Bill 5104, which requires a shoreline condition survey of the Puget
Sound be completed every two years. The positions will map shoreline
features, conduct geospatial analyses, create technical documents, and have
the opportunity to aid in method development and strategic planning for the
Shoreline Mapping Unit.

The Department of Ecology offers a great work-life balance with excellent
benefits and ongoing training opportunities. Both positions can be located
in multiple locations in Western Washington and are eligible for up to 90%
telework. Anyone with questions are welcome to reach out to me.

Please share broadly with anyone who may be interested!

Thanks,
Heather
