For a position beginning Fall 2023, the Department of Geography seeks an
assistant professor in the area of climate change impacts on natural and
human systems who uses quantitative approaches at landscape to regional
scales and will conduct interdisciplinary research to address challenges in
sustainability and climate adaptation. Potential areas of interest include
(but are not limited to) 1) development and application of ecosystem- and
Earth-system models to quantify risk or assess ecosystem-climate feedbacks,
2) data-analytical approaches, such as application of synoptic-scale
analyses to address climate impacts on the hydrosphere or biosphere, or 3)
statistical attribution of weather- and climate-related events to
anthropogenic climate change. We seek a colleague who will develop an
externally funded research program and teach at the lower division to
graduate level.
