[Acmsmajors] ACMS Student Council 2025-2026

Dear ACMS Majors,


ACMS would like to create a student council to help advise the undergraduate program and to be ambassadors for professional activities. We are looking for a small number of dedicated students to create the first council in the Autumn 2025.  Students must be enrolled through Spring 2026 to be eligible.

There are two primary tasks the council will help with:
- Ambassadors: attend various outreach and recruitment events ({which occur sometimes on evenings or weekends) to help answer prospective student questions about ACMS.
- Career and Networking activities: help give input, advertise and coordinate speakers for the Optimal Trajectories series.  This series of talks are informal chats with former math majors -- guests arrive excited to answer questions, give advice and connect with students.

If you are interested, please

  *   Write a short paragraph (no more than ½ page) saying what you might be able to bring to the council.
  *   Feel free to attach a 1 page CV in addition.
  *   The above should specifically include the following items:

– leadership skills
– interest in math and related careers
– ability to create advertisements/social media posts for activities
