What about that bomb cyclone, eh? 🌬️ Hope everyone has power back by now!

It’s Thanksgiving season and club leadership (now a whopping *10 officers
and a handful of position holders*!) would like to give our thanks to you,
our TWO-HUNDRED AND THIRTY-FIVE 2️⃣3️⃣5️⃣ members, for being a part of our
awesome sailing community. 🎉🥳We have had the pleasure of getting to meet
you at lessons, work parties, and the last General Meeting, and we hope to
continue seeing you around in Winter so we can overcome the Seattle Freeze
and Big SAD together! 🤧‼️❄️

Please join us at our next General Meeting, the second (and potentially
last!!) of Autumn Quarter. Typically in these meetings, we recap recent
club activities, update our members on the inner workings of the club, and
vote on changes to our club documents, among other tasks. Each meeting is
unique, just like how every day's wind is unique. Here are the particular
details of Fall’s first general meeting. 👀

Attached to this email are proposed amendments to our By-laws and Policies
documents (the current versions of which can be found under the Club
Documents & Forms <https://washingtonyachtclub.org/club-documents-forms/>
section of our website). They reflect some of the cultural shifts, new
conventions, and emergent needs of the club; our Policy proposals concern a
dues increase we anticipate to be necessary. Otherwise attached is also the
proposed 2025 budget, prepared by Treasurer Austin Vigesaa with input from
WYC executives, which we will deliberate and vote to approve ahead of the
upcoming fiscal year. 🗳️

As always, if you have interests or strengths you would like to bring to
the club, you may be appointed as a Position Holder at this upcoming
meeting to help run our Club! Positions we would like to fill for the
upcoming year include Recruitment Chair, Social Media Chair, Creative
Director, SnC Chair (for Spring and Summer). Joining the leadership team of
the Washington Yacht Club is a great way to get to know passionate people
well, get leadership experience, and be a part of an incredible institution
with 76 years of history at the Udub! If you are interested in a position,
please DM Renee Chien on Discord so we know to appoint you! Feel free also
to chat with any of us to learn more and get your questions answered. 💛
