[WYC Announce] General Meeting Next Thursday at 7 pm: Officer Elections and By-Laws Amendments Vote

Hi everyone,

We'll be holding a general meeting next Thursday, December 8th at 7 pm:

We will be holding Officer Elections for the roles of Co-Commodore, Vice
Commodore, and Rear Commodore. Please reach out if you are interested in
running for any of the positions. Nominations at the meeting and
self-nominations are allowed as well.


Additionally, we'll be voting on whether to adopt the proposed By-Laws and
Policies document amendments that we've been working on over the last few
months.

With unanimous agreement from all of the officers, we have added a friendly
amendment to the proposed By-Laws to describe the roles and
responsibilities for a Fundraising Chair, a position that the officers feel
that the club requires due to unsustainable financial shortcomings since
2017. As the Co-Commodores have the authority to create new positions as
needed (per the existing By-Laws), this addition does not represent any
change in the club's operational policies. No other contents of the
document have changed from the version that was approved to be voted on
during our previous general meeting.

An updated draft of the proposed amended Policies document will be
distributed later in the coming week, as some issues regarding whaler use
and state law have not yet been fully addressed in the current draft. The
current draft remains unchanged since it was reviewed at our previous
general meeting.
