Please join us on Friday February 27 at 3:30pm in Mary Gates Hall Room 389 for a presentation by Prof. Jeremy Hess<https://deohs.washington.edu/faculty/jeremy-j-hess> (CHanGE<https://change.deohs.washington.edu/>) on "Climate Change and Health: Frontiers in Decision Support and Implementation Science".<https://pcc.uw.edu/events/?trumbaEmbed=view%3Devent%26eventid%3D195966948> <https://pcc.uw.edu/events/?trumbaEmbed=view%3Devent%26eventid%3D195966948> This event will be held jointly with the ATMOS Departmental Colloquium. Please share this announcement with your networks.
Abstract: Climate change has widespread and largely adverse health impacts, and many effective health protection policies and programs have not been widely implemented. There is an urgent need to link local risk assessment with evidence-based guidance to support engagement, planning, and implementation of the most effective interventions. We’ll explore a new decision support platform that helps local health departments understand heat risk in their communities and prioritize interventions. We’ll also explore how this work extends prior decision support efforts and how implementation science may offer opportunities for accelerating health adaptation.
