[pccgrads] PCC Director transition

Dear PCC Community,

As some of you may have heard, I have recently become the Interim Chair of
the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Science due to the transition of
our former chair into the role of Interim Dean of the College of the
Environment. Interim Dean Joel Thornton has appointed Professor Kyle Armour
to the role of Interim Director of PCC. I want to thank Kyle for agreeing
to step into this role on such short notice.

Kyle has been a faculty member at the UW since 2015 and holds a joint
appointment between the Department of Atmospheric and Climate Science and
the School of Oceanography. He has been a member of the PCC Executive Board
since 2020 and a member of the Governing Board since 2017. He is well
positioned to take on this role and I'm confident that the PCC is in good
hands.

The dean will be conducting a search for the next PCC Director this autumn
quarter, so stay tuned for information about that. In the meantime, we hope
to see many of you at Third Thursdays and at the PCC Summer Institute
organized by Kyle and Eric Steig.
