Hello Math Majors,
Below you will find important information about graduating senior priority (GSP) and spring quarter course offerings and registration tips.
Are you planning to graduate this coming spring, summer or autumn quarter 2023? If you are and have not yet applied for graduation, visit math.washington.edu/graduation-commencement-information<https://math.washington.edu/graduation-commencement-information> . To register on Friday, FEB 10th with GSP, eligible students must email their graduation application request to our office no later than 4pm, Monday, February 6, 2023.

SPRING 2023 REGISTRATION PERIODS
Period I: FEB 10 – FEB 26
Period II: FEB 27 – MAR 26
Period III: begins MAR 27
MATH MAJOR REGISTRATION INFORMATION:
MATH 300 - Intro to Mathematical Reasoning: All MATH majors should take this course as soon as they are able; it meets the prerequisite for many upper-division math courses.
MATH 301 - Elementary Number Theory: is open to all Math majors who have completed MATH 300 with a 2.0 or higher grade.
MATH 327 - Real Analysis: Recommended for students who plan to take advanced math courses (i.e. 424, 441, and other courses); prerequisite: MATH 300 with a 2.0 or higher grade.
MATH 328 is no longer being offered. BS option and BA Philosophy option majors should now plan to take MATH 424 - Fund. Concepts of Analysis in its place.
MATH 381 - Discrete Mathematical Modeling
Period I ACMS majors only; Seniors, Juniors, Sophomores only
Period II & III MATH & ACMS majors only; Seniors, Juniors only
MATH 409 – Discrete Optimization
Section A: ACMS majors during period I; opens to Math majors ~9am FEB 22
Section B: Math majors during period I; opens to ACMS majors ~ 9am FEB 22
MATH 462 - Combinatorial Theory
Section A: ACMS majors during period I; opens to Math majors ~9am FEB 22
Section B: Math majors during period I; opens to ACMS majors ~ 9am FEB 22
MATH 480 – Special Topic: Mathematics of Public Key Cryptography; for course description, prerequisites and registration go to https://tinyurl.com/444zpzaz.
