Evans Awards
[Sophia Chahine, Jorie Wittig and Sarina Sandhu]Congratulations to the 2025 Evans Award recipients: Medical students Sophia Chahine and Jorie Wittig and resident Sarina Sandhu.

The Robert S. Evans Awards<https://bit.ly/4aOgBhL> are presented each year to the second-year medicine resident(s) and the graduating student(s) in medicine who most clearly reflect the qualities of warmth, understanding, and concern for the needs of others exemplified by and expressed through the life of Dr. Robert Evans, who was chief of medicine at Seattle VA Medical Center for many years.

Fialkow Scholar Award
[Jennifer Ross]Congratulations to Dr. Jennifer Ross, assistant professor (Allergy and Infectious Diseases), who is the 2025 recipient of the Fialkow Award.

The Fialkow Scholar Award honors the late UW Dean of Medicine and Chair of Medicine Dr. Philip Fialkow and his wife, the late Helen Fialkow, and recognizes the outstanding achievements of junior faculty in medicine in research, teaching, clinical work, and academic citizenship.

Dr. Ross is an infectious diseases physician scientist. Her research uses applied epidemiology, modeling, and implementation science to inform policies for HIV and TB prevention in high-burden countries. [Paul Sutton]Dr. Paul Sutton, clinical professor (General Internal Medicine) is the 2024-25 recipient of the Clinical Informatics Fellowship Teaching Award. Chosen by the fellows, this award honors outstanding teaching in the field of clinical informatics. Dr. Sutton serves as a core faculty member in the Clinical Informatics Fellowship program<https://bit.ly/3FDMz6S> within the UW Department of Biomedical Informatics and Medical Education.

American Society of Clinical Oncology Young Investigator Awards
[cid:image013.jpg at 01DBD6FB.6AEE9E80]Congratulations to the following Hematology and Oncology members who received 2025 Young Investigator awards from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO). First awarded in 1984, the Young Investigator Award provides research funding to promising young physicians during the final years of training to support the transition to a faculty appointment and to encourage quality research in clinical oncology.
