Greetings, sailors!

In two weeks we will have our first General Meeting of the fall quarter.
Typically in these meetings, we recap recent club activities, update our
members on the inner workings of the club, elect new officers, and vote on
changes to our club documents, among other tasks. Each meeting is unique,
just like how every day's wind is unique. Here are the particular details
of Fall’s first general meeting.

Date & Time: Wednesday October 30th, 7:30pm

Location: Sieg Hall Room 232

Agenda:

   1.

   Major updates regarding Dock Renovations
   2. Happenings in the Club
   3.

   Voting on Constitution amendments
   4.

   Electing new officers: Co-Commodore, Secretary, Treasurer, Rear
   Commodore, Head Fleet Captain
   5.

   Appointment(s) of Position Holders


Attached to this email are proposed amendments to our Constitution. They
are chiefly to allow for the creation of new Officer roles, and to enable
the WYC to create chapters, especially a Rec Club Chapter that will
interface with UW Recreation.

Can I be a WYC Officer? Any UW student is welcome to run for an officer
position, all you need is the drive and passion about helping your peers
learn to sail. We are seeking folks for the following positions:


   1.

   A Co-Commodore to oversee the general administration and representation
   of the club;
   2.

   A Secretary (formerly “Program Director”) to help the logistics and
   organization of club functions;
   3.

   A Treasurer (formerly “Purser”) to manage club finances;
   4.

   A Rear Commodore to organize non-instructional and social functions of
   the club such as Snooze ‘n Cruise, recruitment, publicity, fundraising etc.
   5.

   A Head Fleet Captain to be the liaison between Officers and Fleet
   Captains in managing the condition of the WYC’s fleet. You do not need to
   know how to fix boats, but you should be a resourceful and proactive person
   for the job!


*We are also always seeking Position Holders* to lead initiatives in the
club such as in our fundraising, content writing/creation, social media
marketing, website/database maintenance, doing outreach, representing the
club in student government, to name a few. If you have interests or
strengths you would like to bring to the club, you may be appointed as a
Position Holder at this upcoming meeting to help run our Club! Positions we
would like to fill for the upcoming year include Fundraising Chair,
Recruitment Chair, Media Director, Webmaster, Social Chair, SnC Chair (for
Spring and Summer), Faculty Advisors, and Fleet Captains. You can refer to

get to know passionate people well, get leadership experience, and be a
