Hi everyone,
A suggestion was also made to rename the Purser position to Treasurer,
which I think is definitely worth considering. As with the other two
proposed By-Laws amendments, we will plan to discuss this at our general
meeting, but no decisions will be made until future meetings.
The reasons given with this suggestion were:
1) It might be easier to recruit people for the role in the future with the
position named Treasurer instead of Purser.
2) There might be gender-specific associations with Purser. Treasurer might
be more gender neutral and better promote inclusion.
Thanks,
Anthony
