[WYC Announce] Summer Quarter starts on Monday / Requirements for student members not taking summer classes / General Meeting Minutes from June 15, 2022

Hey everyone,

I wanted to give a reminder that Summer Quarter starts this coming Monday,
June 20th. If you have a membership that expires this Spring Quarter, you
will have to renew your membership to participate in club
activities starting next week. Our Summer Quarter Membership Form is
available at: https://forms.gle/ogBDayPTLdrcQ7F16

It was explained to us by UW Recreation that students who are not enrolled
in Summer classes but who will be returning as students in the Fall will be
waived from paying the $50 quarterly Waterfront Access Fee that is required
by UW Recreation if they either provide a screenshot showing that they are
registered for Fall Quarter or purchase Summer IMA membership for $70. If
you are signed up as a student member for Summer Quarter and are not taking
classes, please contact programdirector at washingtonyachtclub.org to provide
proof of Fall Quarter registration, purchase of Summer IMA membership,
arrange payment for the $50 WAC Fee, or otherwise work on resolving this
requirement. The full Summer Quarter policies are included below.

Lastly, the minutes from this past Wednesday's General Meeting are attached.

*UW Recreation's Waterfront Access Policies for Summer Quarter:*

Students who are not enrolled in classes for Summer Quarter likely do not
have full IMA membership for the summer, and so they are not exempt from
paying the $50 WAC Fee unless they perform additional steps. As required by
UW Recreation, there are three ways for a person to retain student status:

1) By being enrolled in summer classes or a graduate program.
2) By providing proof (a screenshot) of their fall registration.
3) By purchasing a summer Recreation membership for the IMA.

You can check if you hold IMA membership by logging in to
https://reg.recreation.uw.edu/home/signin?redirect=%2Fmembership and seeing
whether your Eligibility is listed as Student and that Summer Quarter is
listed under My Memberships. It would say Membership Type: SuS, Start Date:
Mon, Jun 6 2022, Expiry Date: Sun, Sep 18 2022.

If you do not see Membership Type SuS when logging in at the link above,
then you will have to either provide proof of your fall registration or
purchase a summer Recreation membership for the IMA.
