We would like to celebrate this properly, and we have decided that it would be best to start the conversation in this chat email list. Let this email be the beginning of a long and lively conversation. Some ideas that we have: 1. Renting out the Great Room and balcony at the WAC for Opening Day (May 7th) for a big club celebration. 2. Special WYC 75th Anniversary merchandise like shirts, etc. 3 Publish a complete archive site with digital copies of some of the cool documents in our physical archive, as well as links to some of the old websites (http://archive.washingtonyachtclub.org/Telltale/ and http://archive.washingtonyachtclub.org/WYC/) 4. A special edition of Telltale with retellings of classic WYC stories from throughout the years? Our anniversary plans would be shared with the racing team, and it would be great to include them and club alumni who likely do not follow our email lists anymore in this conversation once things get started. I look forward to hearing from you and seeing you out on the water, William Rae Vice Commodore Washington Yacht Club http://www.washingtonyachtclub.org/ -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... This is a process that requires many volunteers of all levels of experience to pitch in so that we can do this quickly and smoothly. We will need to start doing this boat move process this coming Friday and Sunday, and we will continue to do this for all following home football games. If you are a current club member who is able to help us with this, please sign up at: http://database.washingtonyachtclub.org/enroll.cgi?class=1454. We will maintain this single list throughout the football season, so you will only have to visit the link once. The boat removal process will occur on Friday afternoon or evening (exact times to be determined), and the boat return process will occur on Sunday starting at 9 am. The upcoming dates for boat moves are: September 2 and 4, September 9 and 11, September 16 and 18, September 23 and 25, October 14 and 16, November 3 and 5 (Thursday and Saturday), and November 18 and 20. Your contribution to these efforts is greatly needed and appreciated. --- Separately, we will be holding our Dawg Daze open house sailing event on Sunday, September 25th from noon to 5 pm, in which we will be taking incoming students out sailing on our club keelboats. If you are able to help us with this event, please put this date on your calendar and sign up for a role and timeslot on our volunteer spreadsheet when possible: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xyCVKzPgbhr1sHbWx9aitocmkpZW3Hukn3EQL_hVGEY/edit#gid=0 Again, we greatly appreciate your assistance in helping our volunteer-based organization continue to operate.
