The Washington State Department of Natural Resources is excited to share that the Aquatics Program is currently hiring five restoration-related positions! Each position presents a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and safety of Washington's aquatic lands. * Derelict Structure Program Lead<https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/4184198/derelict-structure-program-lead-environmental-planner-3>: This position will lead and develop the Derelict Structure Removal Program to meet the requirements of the Derelict Structures Bill (SB 5433<https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5433&Initiative=false&Year=2023>). This position supervises the Derelict Structure Restoration Manager and will work closely with them to permit, partner, contract and facilitate removal and restoration. This position will also work closely with the Puget Sound Partnership to facilitate credit generation and reimbursement under the Nearshore Conservation Credit Program<https://www.psp.wa.gov/pspnc.php>. * Restoration Manager (Derelict Structures)<https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/4178009/restoration-manager-nrs3>: This position will plan, organize, implement derelict structure removal projects outlined in the Derelict Structures Bill (SB 5433<https://app.leg.wa.gov/billsummary?BillNumber=5433&Initiative=false&Year=2023>). This position will also develop piling removal projects to facilitate credits sold under the Nearshore Conservation Credit Program<https://www.psp.wa.gov/pspnc.php>. Reports to the Derelict Structure Removal Program Lead. * Restoration Manager (Orca-Straits District)<https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/4189272/restoration-manager-natural-resource-specialist-3>: This position is based in Skagit County and will manage aquatic habitat restoration projects on state-owned aquatic lands primarily in North Puget Sound and the Olympic Peninsula. This position also will also supervise the Marine Debris Removal Program<https://www.dnr.wa.gov/MarineDebris>. * Restoration Manager (Tire Removal)<https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/4194238/tire-removal-restoration-manager-nrs3>: This is a project position that will plan, organize, and implement the removal of failed tire reef structures<https://www.dnr.wa.gov/publications/aqr_aq_sci_2019_tire_reefs_2_pager.pdf>. This position will work closely with internal and external partners to permit, contract, and facilitate the development of a tire pile removal program with the long-term goal of removing over 800,000 tires from 14 sites throughout the Salish Sea. * Restoration Manager (Snohomish Watershed)<https://www.governmentjobs.com/careers/washington/jobs/4167819/aquatic-restoration-manager-snohomish-watershed-nrs3>: This is a project position that will create capacity in the Orca-Straits District to implement land management, stakeholder engagement, and project management to support habitat restoration and protection in the Snohomish basin. This work will help implement DNR's Snohomish Watershed Resilience Action Plan (WRAP<https://www.dnr.wa.gov/WRAP>), a watershed scale effort to promote salmon recovery, water quality, forest health, and vibrant communities.
