King County Environmental Health Department is seeking a Wastewater Planning Manager (Program Project Manager IV) to lead in developing racial equity-based systems change and strategies on the future of wastewater planning for King County OSS infrastructure with a focus on the urban area. Your work will start with planning a capital grant project to identify and implement a cost-effective wastewater solution for a neighborhood in urban, unincorporated King County that has a disproportionate health burden. You will develop interagency partnerships and strategies to fund and implement wastewater transitions for communities that have been disproportionately impacted by the inequities in development. You will consult with OSS Programs on complex cases to find solutions for failing OSS systems. And you will use metrics, communication, partnerships, and program development strategies to expand this work to equitably serve all King County residents.

The OSS Permitting Program is seeking to fill a full-time career service Health & Environmental Investigator III position. The position will review a wide variety of land use proposals, especially OSS designs and installations, working with designers and property owners in navigating the OSS permitting process. You will provide technical assistance, education, and regulatory compliance advice to a wide variety of audiences including on-site sewage industry, real estate industry, the public and others. This position will be the lead for the individual well program by assessing ground water data, improving technical information available on the website, and providing technical assistance.
