<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto">Yesterday on a whim, I decided to walk out to the observation blind at the rest stop halfway around the Refuge. As I enter the path I heard a unique song. I felt I knew it, but it was not quite right. I continued to walk not hearing it anymore. I walked out to the observation hut. Lots and lots of it contains Tree Swallows, Common Yellowthroats, Yellow rumpled Warblers and flushed a Wilson Snipe right by the path. Not much going on in observation small pieces b don’t forget blind bad light with the southeastern sun. On my way back I heard the call again and this time It was singing quite a bit so of course I pulled Merlin out and it matched the White breasted Nuthatch.(Pacific) This was the first for me west of the Cascades.
