<html><head><meta http-equiv="content-type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"></head><body dir="auto"><div>Hi Tweets,</div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Here’s another view of the Trend status of Eurasion Collared-Dove (EUCD) in WA. This data picture shows an overall increase (blue color) in EUCD from 2011-2021 with the exception of the Tri-cities area (in red color - although they certainly have the largest amount of EUCD. This may be easier for some to visualize versus the frequency graphs and shows the broader North American picture that you can then zoom in on Washington. You can find it</span><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"> under the Science tab in eBird, status & trends data. I filtered for North America and then Washington, which will then give you a list of birds to choose from for which this data is available. You can use the same tool to see where a new Life Bird would be best looked for in the abundance maps. </span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">Bill Tweit shared this to my query about the trend increase inEUCD. “</span><span style="font-size: small; -webkit-text-size-adjust: auto; background-color: rgb(255, 255, 255);">The status and trends data are for 2011-2021, which is seven years of rapid growth and expansion, and four years of less dramatic decrease. The index will be weighted most heavily by the seven years, and not really reflect the beginning of the population contraction. Fascinating that the status and trends map for continental North America shows the contraction quite clearly for the western Great Plains region, where the population expansion was around a decade ahead of the Pacific Northwest. Same ecological phenomenon, just different points on the time scale.”</span></div><div><span style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></span></div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><div style="display: block;" class=""><div style="-webkit-user-select: all; -webkit-user-drag: element; display: inline-block;" class="apple-rich-link" draggable="true" role="link" data-url="https://science.ebird.org/en/status-and-trends/species/eucdov/trends-map"><a style="border-radius:10px;font-family:-apple-system, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;display:block;-webkit-user-select:none;width:300px;user-select:none;-webkit-user-modify:read-only;user-modify:read-only;overflow:hidden;text-decoration:none;" class="lp-rich-link" rel="nofollow" href="https://science.ebird.org/en/status-and-trends/species/eucdov/trends-map" dir="ltr" role="button" draggable="false" width="300"><table style="table-layout:fixed;border-collapse:collapse;width:300px;background-color:#E9E9EB;font-family:-apple-system, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;" class="lp-rich-link-emailBaseTable" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" border="0" width="300"><tbody><tr><td vertical-align="center"><table bgcolor="#E9E9EB" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" width="300" style="font-family:-apple-system, Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif;table-layout:fixed;background-color:rgba(233, 233, 235, 1);" class="lp-rich-link-captionBar"><tbody><tr><td style="padding:8px 0px 8px 0px;" class="lp-rich-link-captionBar-textStackItem"><div style="max-width:100%;margin:0px 16px 0px 16px;overflow:hidden;" class="lp-rich-link-captionBar-textStack"><div style="word-wrap:break-word;font-weight:500;font-size:12px;overflow:hidden;text-overflow:ellipsis;text-align:left;" class="lp-rich-link-captionBar-textStack-topCaption-leading"><a rel="nofollow" href="https://science.ebird.org/en/status-and-trends/species/eucdov/trends-map" style="text-decoration: none" draggable="false"><font color="#000000" style="color: rgba(0, 0, 0, 1);">Eurasian Collared-Dove - Trends Map - eBird Status and Trends</font></a></div><div style="word-wrap:break-word;font-weight:400;font-size:11px;overflow:hidden;text-overflow:ellipsis;text-align:left;" class="lp-rich-link-captionBar-textStack-bottomCaption-leading"><a rel="nofollow" href="https://science.ebird.org/en/status-and-trends/species/eucdov/trends-map" style="text-decoration: none" draggable="false"><font color="#A2A2A9" style="color: rgba(60, 60, 67, 0.6);">science.ebird.org</font></a></div></div></td><td style="padding:6px 12px 6px 0px;" class="lp-rich-link-captionBar-rightIconItem" width="36"><a rel="nofollow" href="https://science.ebird.org/en/status-and-trends/species/eucdov/trends-map" draggable="false"><img style="pointer-events:none !important;display:inline-block;width:36px;height:36px;border-radius:3px;" width="36" height="36" draggable="false" class="lp-rich-link-captionBar-rightIcon" alt="apple-touch-icon.png" src="cid:22965116-1846-4299-96C4-C7C4D53DE3FB"></a></td></tr></tbody></table></td></tr></tbody></table></a></div></div><br></div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">And for those that want to find the frequency graphs that Bill linked, here’s the key to finding them. It took me longer than I care to admit, but I did eventually figure out where Bill pulled them from and I use the Bar Charts all the time! However, I’ve never tapped the little squiggly line graph icon to the right of the birds name. Magic. And if you’re pulling the 5 year data, there is no indication that you can only pull data through 2021 - nothing intuitive about that limitation. </div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;"><br></div><div style="-webkit-text-size-adjust: auto;">And for the local angle, I have not heard or seen the two EUCD that were here in my Tacoma neighborhood in over a year.
