Each year, we mountain travelers observe hundreds of AMDIs descending from their breeding grounds in winter to the Yakima River, Methow River, Tieton River and tributaries thereof. Dippers are common IDs on the Yakima River in winter. I have counted 20+ AMDIs on the Tieton River on several drives home from mid-winter skiing at White Pass. I suspect that many, possibly most, of those birds breed on the Tumac Plateau (north of White Pass).</div></div><br><div dir="ltr" class="gmail_signature"><div dir="ltr"><div><div>Steve Loitz</div>
