Two dozen dedicated, dutiful but disorganized birders participated in the walk this week. The summer weather was moderate in the morning, overcast and high 60's to low 70's. It warmed in the afternoon as the cloud cover burned off reaching 81 degrees Fahrenheit by the end of the walk. The tide was low at the start (0.04') and rose to 11.3' by 4:30 pm. We followed our typical route and saw mostly the typical species, dipping on Red-tailed Hawk, and the green Heron reported recently. Highlights include a Great Egret, Lesser Yellowlegs and Semi-palmated Sandpiper. The complete list follows.
