<div class="PlainText">A couple years ago in Skagit County near the Swinomish Reservation around 44 nesting pairs of American White Pelicans were getting established on a nearby island. All was going well until July 5th when it was discovered the Pelicans all
abandoned the site. It was suspected the large amount of fireworks from the 4th of July was the cause for them to abandoned the colony.
