<html><head></head><body><div style="font-family: Verdana;font-size: 12.0px;"><div>Hi, Tweets</div>
<div> </div>
<div>The summer doldrums are approaching, I think, at least it's getting warmer and slower as far as a lot bird activity. Summer is usually low-key for turkey vultures many of which are nesting and fledging. It all leads up to the great migrations of these summering birds in September and October as they head to wherever they choose to overwinter. </div>
<div> </div>
<div>Following is a brief report from Washington state. I only had three reports so I added the rest from e-bird. I am not happy with e-bird in the sense that people seldom make remarks about birds seen unless it's a favorite of theirs or unusual. When you look at an e-bird map of turkey vultures you'd think there were more in our state than people!</div>
<div> </div>
<div><u>JUNE</u></div>

<div>08 -- Two turkey vultures low over Anacortes near Saint Mary Church.</div>
<div>12 -- Two at Stehekin, Weaver Point, Chelan County; 6 at Barn Beach Reserve, Chelan County.</div>
<div>15 -- 2 at Bickleton, Klickitat County.</div>
<div>19 -- 9 at Salt Creek County Park, Clallam County - perched in trees next to the road.</div>
<div>20 -- One at Cap Sante, Skagit County.</div>
<div>21 -- One on the Little Pend Oreille NWR Breeding Birds Survey Route, varied habitat.</div>
<div>24 -- 3 at Big Four Trailhead, Snohomish.</div>
<div>28 -- 4 at Grayland Beach State Park, Pacific County.</div>
<div>30 -- 3 from the Cowiche Canyon Trail east end, Yakima County.</div>

<div>
<div>Thanks as always for your reports. Even though vultures aren't rare at all, they are quite interesting birds!!</div>
<div>And you can always send in late reports . . .</div>

<div>Cheers, Diann</div>
