<div>If you've looked at the Seattle Times perhaps you noticed the lovely photo of a Short-eared Owl, renamed a Snowy Owl. Mistakes happen but I couldn't resist letting the Reader's Lens editor know that he didn't do his homework. A good shot of the owl but the photographer should have checked, too. We don't want non-birders sending in loads of new reports of Snowy Owls on the Skagit. Doubt it will happen this winter.</div>
