<div>A few small kettles have been seen towards the end of August so September should be an interesting month with some much larger groups heading south. Following is the report for Washington for August 2023. Thanks for the great reports and also a thank-you to anyone who posts their e-bird sightings; I check them all for turkey vultures.</div>

<div>08 -- Two turkey vultures, flying high over the northern part of Fir Island.</div>
<div>09 -- One in the mid-afternoon near Easton, mp74; two singles near Ellensburg at mp102 and mp104.</div>
<div>10 -- One near Sunnyside along I-82, mp64, at 1130.</div>
<div>13 -- One turkey vulture over Carrie Blake Park (Sequim) at 1300.</div>
<div>15 -- Two or three at the East 90, Skagit Flats.</div>
<div>
<div>16 -- One at the Billy Frank Jr. Nisqually NWR, summer weather of 69-90.</div>

<div>18 -- Two turkey vultures at Lower Larch Mountain, Clark County, overcast w/llight wind. 58-65; JBLM, Eagle' Pride Golf Course, one turkey vulture, 65-85 degrees.</div>
<div>19 -- Seen from SR542 in Whatcom County: one near Hannegan Road; two near VanWyck Road; one near Maple Falls.</div>
<div>20 -- One seen from I-5 near the Stanwood/Camano Exit at 0935.</div>
<div>21 -- One turkey vulture gliding over beautiful downtown Quilcene at 0957, clear skies, but light smoke from Canadian fires; one at the Hayton Reserve, Fir Island, at 1330.</div>
<div>23 -- Three northwest of Sequim, not very far today, at 1330.</div>
<div>24 -- Kettle of 7 turkey vultures circling west of Little League fields in Port Hadlock, clear skies, slightly smoky, 62.</div>
<div>25 -- Kettle of 8 Turkey Vultures over Sikes Lake area in the Snoqualmie Valley. </div>
<div>28 -- Three over South Prairie, Skamania County, ca.1100.</div>
<div>31 -- Two turkey vultures east of Greenwood/NF70 turnoff, Pierce County at 1045; one east of Windy Gap, Kind County at 5,400 ft.</div>
