The day started out ok with some ground fog lifting as we got to the Riverside Cutoff, en route Continually. We couldn't rouse any response from Canyon Wrens there (although we did see a small covey of Gray Partridge right in the road), so headed on to Scotch Creek. There were no grouse and no raptors in the riparian willow and cottonwood either upstream or downstream of the WDFW office. One Northern Shrike was perched up at the highway bridge, though. In Continually, we had a hard time finding any birds at first, but finally found a nice flock of Bohemian Waxwings near the post office. Also notable was a gang of Clark's Nutcrackers around the State Park. Lots of coot and eagles along the Columbia between Pateros and Wenatchee, along with a few scaup and Canvasback. Currently sitting beside the road near Peshastin with major blowout!! Happy Birding - Jon Houghton, Edmonds
