<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">September is coming up and along with early October that is the main window that our Pacific northwestern turkey vultures head south with a few wintering over in isolated spots. Thank you for reports sent in; they are always appreciated. I put a few e-bird reports in but they don’t give much information so I’m not happy with that.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">Following are sightings of August turkey vultures in Washington, British Columbia and Oregon:</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3"><u>August</u></font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">02 – Two turkey vultures at Neah Bay.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">03 – Three at Nestucca Bay NWR, Two Rivers Trail, Tillamook, OR.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">04 – Five at Steamboat Rock State Park; Three at San Juan Island NHP, English Camp.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">06 – Two over Discovery Bay, Jefferson County,</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">07 – Two over Discovery Bay, Jefferson County – (maybe the same ones?).</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">11 – A tagged turkey vulture at Bonge Beach access road, Grayland, 0930 – plus at least 20 more on the beach. (Photos accompanied the report and I reported it/them to Dan Varland.)</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">20 – 17 at the Hope Sewage Lagoon, BC.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">21 – 15 in the Cowichan Vally, BC.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">23 – One soaring over I-5 south of 172<sup>nd</sup> St. NE, Marysville; Six sitting in a newly mown field along Mountainview Rd. west of Ferndale in the afternoon; 10 turkey vultures over Hwy 2 at Davenport.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">27 – A kettle of 11 turkey vultures over the Fraser River by Haney BC.; Several hanging around all week near Maple Ridge, BC (perhaps a nearby roost); 12 at Conconully State Park.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">28 – Six at Kootenay Boundary, BC.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">30 – Eight at Rocky Point Observatory, BC; Four at Denman WMA, Hall Unit, Jackson, OR.</font></font></p>
<p><font face="Arial, sans-serif"><font size="3">I’ll do a fall migration report because the numbers are always interesting, but if there is little interest in this type of report from those on Tweeters, perhaps I should stop. Let me know what you think. I know how unwanted email can clog things up.</font></font></p>
