Hi Tweets,
There is a wealth of information on the world’s bird species available at Cornell’s Birds of the World. Unfortunately it is a subscription data base for most folks. I understand that access to it is a benefit for members of the Washington Ornithological Society. Most Washington residents can also access it as a patron benefit by becoming a registered user of the Sno-Isle library system. One type of eligibility for Sno-Isle is to be a resident of another jurisdiction within Washington that provides equitable tax support for public library service. That should cover most Washington residents. This is the link to the Sno-Isle registration page:

Once you have become a registered user, go to the Sno-Isle home page (sno-isle.org <http://sno-isle.org/>) and log in once you have set up your online account (user name and password). Then click on "Online Resources." Under Subject open "Science & Nature." Birds of the World is the first data base listed under Science & Nature. Click on it and then begin your in depth exploration of the planet’s birds.
Good birding (online or in the field),
