There are a great many places that are great for birding in our State and May is a great time to be here.
I recommend that you acquire a copy of the ABA Guide to Washington, 2nd ed<https://www.aba.org/store/a-birders-guide-to-washington-2nd-edition/>. You find area by area guides to specific areas you might want to go along with discussion of what specifies you are likely to see in late spring/early summer.
For more real-time updates looking at nearby eBird hotspots as well as this Tweeters mail list are good resources.
Happy birding, Steve

Where's the best birding around here in May (as we will be having a guest from the East Coast)?
Thanks.
