I can’t answer if this is expected behavior, but it was a wonderful video to watch!

It was pouring rain, and I was very surprised to see the mama climb on top of the very large chicks to keep them warm. I am wondering if this is an expected behavior, or something new that this mama decided to do? Attached is my YouTube video of this event.
