[Tweeters] Feeder demands and behavior

The Stellar's Jays on our block have trained me. If I see them outside and
there is no food left after the last raid by the squirrels, I grab a small
handful of peanuts and toss it out my front door onto the deck for them.

The power line to our house angles across the lot right in front of the
door. When they see me through the glass door coming with the food they
tend to perch there and go "tap-tap" with their beaks on the cable. I
assume that double tap is either begging behavior or a signal to others in
their cohort that food is nearby.
