[Tweeters] Nesting Coot?

I kayak a lot in the north end of Lake Washington. Coots do nest here, but
in very small numbers. Most often when I see a lone bird, I can see that it
is injured. As far as I can tell, they leave the flock to go to quieter
waters to recover from their wounds. There are lots of other possibilities
here, but that is my main experience.
