Remember this?

 

            Many years ago when I frequently visited the 'Fill', there was a
Scotsman, who organized a group of birders to pull loosestrife around the
edges for the  shorebirds.  We met every Wednesday for a couple of hours to
pull. 

            It worked!.  The next year the shorebirds came.
