[Tweeters] Towhees and Junco nest

No Juncos to be seen or heard around my hanging fuchsia since the Towhee incursion yesterday, so I took the plant down for a quick peek. The nest is empty.  
Coincidence? If not, what?  I have a hard time accepting that some questions must remain unanswered.
Could a winged predator have pursued the young Towhee and its attendant parent down my long driveway (walled in on both sides), causing a window collision - then spotted the defenseless Juncos?
