I went up to Fir Island early, and my first bird of the year was (were) two
Trumpeter Swans flying by! One of my best FOYs. Missed on the Goshawk (but
25 mph winds probably had something to do with that). Did have Red-tailed
Hawk, American Kestrel and Bald Eagle. On a small "pond" I did have Mallard
and American Wigeon. Everybody else was sticking under cover.
