Carlos Anderson and I found the Eastern Phoebe after about twenty minutes of searching. First seen in the yard of the last house on the trail leading to Deer Lagoon. This was about 11 a.m. and the bird continued to show well for about 30 minutes. It spent much time on the west side of the trail in the cattails - flycatching low just about the water. It called several times.
David Poortinga arrived about noon and he soon relocated the bird. On the way out we found it once again in the cattails this time about 20 yards from the beginning of the trail.
In contrast to yesterday where bird only appeared briefly, today the bird was cooperative.
Cheers and good birding,
Steve
