Nearly two and a half hours looking and listening everywhere within about 4-5 blocks of 76th and Dayton today turned up zero Blue Jays, though I grew up with them and am familiar with all their standard (much-missed) calls.   Several unexpected birds in this purely residential, utterly parkless neighborhood included Townsends Warbler, Pacific Wren and SCADS of Pine Siskins, including two bright “green morphs” as consolation prizes.
