We hope you have marked your calendar and will join us for a timely and
informative (virtual) presentation at Monday's Monthly Meeting.
What: Canary in a Coal Mine, Revisited: Emerging Evidence of Air
Pollution as an Overlooked Threat to Birds, with Olivia Sanderfoot
When: Monday, Dec. 7, 7:30 pm
Where: Via GoToMeeting (Sign-in begins at 7:15 pm)
Our speaker, Olivia Sanderfoot, will enlighten us about the avian
respiratory system and will give us an early look at what her research
shows about the impacts of acute and chronic exposure to particle pollution
from a variety of sources, including wildfires, on bird communities. Olvia
is currently completing her Ph.D. at the UW in the Quantitative Ecology
Lab, Her current research builds on her 2017 Master's Thesis that
synthesized research to date on air pollution impacts on birds, completed
at the UW - Madison Center for Sustainability and the Global Environment.
