Hi Dave and Tweeters,
The birds seemed to mostly be feeding in Western Hemlocks. I can't say I
spend a lot of time inspecting hemlock's for the cone crop, but these
looked especially bountiful. David Poortinga, who initially found this
flock, has also encountered smaller numbers of WWCR throughout the
foothills in recent days and I saw some nice photos from Skagit Co pop up
today so I suspect birders in other birders in neighboring counties might
have some luck if they can find similar habitat. Hemlocks seem to like
areas adjacent to wet spots in the forest from my casual observation.
