Dear Tweeters,
Today, Labor Day, there were a couple of juvenile sparrows at the Illabot Creek Restoration Area (or Illabot Creek Alluvial Fan), east of Rockport in Skagit County. I photographed one that I would call a Chipping Sparrow; it was with an adult Chipping Sparrow.
Another juvenile looked much like the juvenile Chipping Sparrow, but not exactly the same. Here is a link to my eBird checklist.

Any comments on the ID of the "sparrow sp" would be welcomed.
By the way, even in the heat of the afternoon, it was good birding there--despite the presence of 4X4's which had been driven through the woods to evade the "no unauthorized vehicles" signs. There was a Vesper Sparrow and quite a few other interesting birds in this rocky, weedy area.
Yours truly,
Gary Bletsch
