Tuesday & yesterday I birded Bottle Beach in Grays Harbor County. There was a fine assortment of expected species on both days, including numbers of RED KNOTS. I didn't county them, but certainly there many more than 100 knots.

Yesterday the birds remained on the beach through high tide, allowing close looks at all species. It was a good opportunity to view the amazing diversity in size, shape and color within WESTERN SANDPIPER.

The unexpected bird was a SEMIPALMATED SANDPIPER. This bird is rare at the coast, especially in spring. For documentation all I could get was a neurotic video.

For a better look at the bird, here are a few screen grabs.

"In declaring the right to modify human action secretly and for profit, surveillance capitalism effectively exiles us from our own behavior, shifting the locus of control over the future tense from "I will" to "You will."
