Hello all,

Spent a few hours yesterday scouting for our upcoming WOS Conference
field trips - but ended up spending more time looking at wildflowers
than at birds! The highlight being hundreds of blooming HEDGEHOG CATCUS
at the junction of Baird Springs Rd and Overen Rd.

Hundreds of White-crowned Sparrows were everywhere - moving through
sage, along the roads. Nice assortment of migrants in the riparian areas
- mostly NASHVILLE, ORANGE-CROWNED, WILSON'S and Yrumped Warblers,
Ruby-crowned Kinglets. A few WESTERN TANAGERS and LAZULI BUNTINGS were
also moving through. Found a few Sage birds - not many.

At Jameson Lake in Douglas County a Common Loon and Lewis's Woodpecker
were the highlights.

Back in Walla Walla Co. at the Millet Pond were our First-Of-Year
BLUE-WINGED TEAL.

Happy birding, ML
