Tweets,

Today 40 of us enjoyed a great walk at Nisqually. It was chilly to
start but warmed up nicely until a north breeze blue in. We had an
11.6 high tide at 10:37 so there was lots of water in the reclamation
area.

The day started our with an AMERICAN BEAVER at the visitor center
along with WOOD DUCKS, HOODED MERGANSERS, GADWALL, AMERICAN GOLDFINCH,
and a RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD fly by.

On the way to the ed center we encountered the first of many
YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS. In the orchard we got good looks at both
ANNA'S and RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRDS. We also had FLICKER calling and SONG
SPARROWS were singing lustily.

At the twin barns overlook we had CANADA and CACKLING GEESE and out on
the estuary dike we had 4 EURASIAN WIGEON inside the dike and another
EURASIAN WIGEON outside the dike. There was a lot of gull activity
with both MEW and RING-BILLED actively foraging on schooling bait
fish. We had a HERRING GULL fly by to join the activity.

For the day I had 46 species and now have 75 for the year. Mammals
seen included the BEAVER, COTTON-TAILED RABBIT, and BLACK-TAILED DEER.

Until next week.....
