I just received a call from Les Carlson asking me to post that he had just located a SAGEBRUSH SPARROW along the Washougal Dike Trail at the Steigerwald Lake NWR near Washougal. This could be the same bird reported yesterday by Russ Koppendrayer but this one was about a quarter of a mile east of the barn where it was seen yesterday, it was feeding on the north-south running road east of the fish ladder. Yesterday, Les found a second one of these birds near the guard shack at Bonneville Dam while the earlier reported one found by Matt Bartel was still being seen a quarter mile away. There must be a bunch of these birds passing through the Columbia Gorge to the east-side with three reports from Skamania County and three or four from Clark County and at least one in Klickitat County.
