Hi Tweets,
After way too many years of fruitlessly scanning flocks of Horned Larks, I finally caught the nemesis bird - a Lapland Longspur. It was in an enormous mixed flock of Horned Larks and Snow Buntings just west of the intersection of Bodeau and Williams Roads west of Wilbur in Lincoln County, WA.

This has been an interesting spot this winter because there is a patch of unharvested sunflower on the south side of Williams about 1/4 mile west of the intersection that has been acting as a magnet for our winter seed eaters since we finally started getting snow last month. Today I'd estimate 400+ birds, about evenly divided between buntings and larks.
