We have 2 Scrub Jays that have made our neighborhood (North of the U District between Wedgwood and I-5) their home since late last spring. We’ve seen them on and off all winter, Every so often I don’t see them for a bit, and I think, “OK, they’re gone now” and then poof! There they are at the feeder again. The Stellar’s Jays in our neighborhood don’t seem to mind them at all, but the crows pester them. I will try to post some photos on Flickr.

> Wondering about how common this is in our neck of the woods? A friend (a non-birder) north of here in Mt. Vernon sent a very poor image thinking it was a Western Bluebird, but when I sent a photo of the Western/CA Scrub jay she said that photo I sent was exact.
> Would this be considered a rare sighting? I know I certainly have never had one in my garden.
> Thank you.
