There are signs indicating that the beach to the north is private so I stood on the rocks just below the park and watched the trees and hillside to the north. In less than ten minutes the magpie flew up from somewhere low and obscured and perched briefly in one of the trees. Views are somewhat distant from here to where the bird was when I saw it, but if it moves up and down the beach it may come closer? Either way it's a spot worth considering for people hoping to see this bird in addition to the viewing from the top of the bluff.
