We start looking hard for shorebirds in the Edmonds marsh each spring about April 20th. They have often arrived on that date or within a few days thereafter. We could find none over the weekend but four Least Sandpipers flew in early this afternoon on a lot of exposed mud. These are not the first Leasts in Snohomish County this spring but they are the first for Edmonds. Marsh viewing should be interesting for the next four to five weeks. Enjoy.
