Hi Tweeters,

This is about birds, environment, access for all, and more.

Many environmental groups, including Seattle Audubon, have written and
spoken publicly in opposition to the development of urban natural areas for
active recreational use.

Ed Newbold just wrote a compelling piece on the many serious problems with
the latest proposal to install a mountain bike park in Cheasty Greenspace
in Seattle’s Beacon Hill neighborhood. Please read it. It’s much more than
a list of bullet points. Ed knows his birds, the details, and he gets the
big picture:

Seattle Nature Alliance has also written about this latest attempt by
Seattle Parks to get it approved - in the face of city-wide opposition:

*The deadline for public comments is Nov 14.* Please write.

Write to Parks staff: David Graves – David.graves at seattle.gov, Jon Jainga –
jon.jainga at seattle.gov, and Superintendent Williams –
christopher.williams at seattle.gov

You can also write to the Board of Park Commissioners –
Rachel.Acosta at seattle.gov, Seattle City Council – council at seattle.gov
<coucil at seattle.gov>, and Mayor Durkan <jenny.durkan at seattle.gov>.

Many thanks – Mark
