> Hello bird lovers,

>

> It must be the “warm” weather but I just looked out (I’ve been watching the hummer behaviour and they are “acting” like they are readying to nest) and in fact saw the first hummer of this year plucking fluff. Indeed it is as early as last year.

>

> That particular bird left our yard, but I will be watching intently now to see if they decide to nest somewhere in our pine tree or hopefully in a lower shrub.

>

> Put your fluff out - mine is out year round (under a baffle) so they know where it is. Remember, Anna hummers typically nest in February.

>

> I also have been watching brown creeper(s), sometimes a pair feeding regularly. Hoping they find the aging fir bark a possible nesting site.

>

> Have a great bird day - near or far.

> Caryn / Wedgwood

PS…since sending this earlier today (to the wrong address), I have seen the bird still collecting and flying off. Definitely an “early bird”. (The hummer not me.)
