Hi, Tweets,

I stopped by the south side of Alki Point tonight on my way home from work. After 15 minutes or so, Spencer H. showed up, and we walked around looking for the earlier reported Lark Sparrow. We didn't find it for awhile. We did see a Hooded Merganser fly past toward the point in the company of a half dozen Common Mergansers. We didn't see shorebirds, either, but the tide was high, so we may have missed their roost spot. On one of our many passes, I suddenly noticed the immature Lark Sparrow about two meters from me on the ground just west across the street from where it had been reported earlier, right next to the main road. We watched it for awhile, and Spencer may have photographs. When we left a bit before 7 p. m., the bird was still feeding there near the stop sign. (This is just west of the water treatment facility.)
