Hi Tweeters,

This morning (8/29/18) at 11am there was a Lark Sparrow at Alki in West
Seattle. It was feeding in the gravel parking strip along Benton Pl SW at
the gate to the dog walk area behind the treatment plant. This is the same
spot where the Mountain Chickadees were hanging out last winter. It was
loosely associating with a couple of House Finches.

Prior to finding the sparrow I scoped the water for awhile and was amazed
to see 13 Parasitic Jaegers. They were all out in the middle of the sound,
there were two groups resting on floating logs (one of 5, one of 4) and
four others elsewhere on the water. This is by far the most I've seen here
in a day.

There were also 4 Red-necked Phalaropes off the point, and the Ruddy
Turnstones are still around.

Good birding,

Sam Terry
